Thenextday,IfeltthefamiliarcatchinmythroatasBelker'sfamilysurroundedhim.Shaneseemedsocalm,pettingtheolddogforthelasttime,thatIwonderedifheunderstoodwhatwasgoingon.Withinafewminutes,Belkerslippedpeacefullyaway.

Startled,weallturnedtohim.Whatcameoutofhismouthnextstunnedme.I'dneverheardamorecomfortingexplanation.
